Nepali Language Lesson

With Sonam!

Jam jam = let's go
Bistari bistari = slowly slowly

Dannyabad = thank you
Swagatam = you're welcome (or as they say welcome and spell wel come)

Suvaratri = good night
Suva pravat or Suvabihani = good morning

Tatopani = hot water
Chisopani = cold water
Chau chau soup = noodle soup

Tapaiko naam ke ho? = what is your name?
Mero naam Rachel ho = my name is Rachel

Namaste = I'm greeting the god within you but it can be used for a lot of things because they will understand you like thank you and hello and goodbye and everything. It doesn't actually mean those things but they understand what you mean. He said if you know other words it is better to use though.

Tapai Lai kasto cha = how are you
Thik chha = I'm fine
Thik chaina = not fine

Dherai ramro chha = very nice, beautiful, good

Basnoos = please sit down

Pheri bhetaunla = see you again or se you soon. I don't remember

Pheri bholi bhetaula = see you tomorrow

Yahan aunoos ta = come here please

Bill pauna sakchhu? = can I have the bill?

Ai bhai! = waiter
I think he said bhai is for someone younger than you and ai bhai is for someone older.
Didi is for an older woman like sister or friend. There are words for mom and grandma.

Malai bhadgaon guest house man parcha = I like bhadgaon guest house
Replace parcha with paryo for past tense (liked)

Malai yo geet manpardaina = I do not like this music (geet is if there is someone singing or playing)

Arko kunai bajaunus = play something else
Arko means next

Jastai... = such as...

Malai manparcha/paryo = I like/liked

Mahango= expensive
Sasto= cheap

Music dherai thoolo = music is too loud
Music is just if its playing not if someone is playing it I think (not live)
Sano bhayo= low

Aheele kati bajyo? = what is the time now?
